Going solo! 1 of 3
After sufficient \'dual\' instruction, the student pilot is authorized to fly solo for the first time. Many pilots remember their solo flight as the most exciting of their whole flying career.
There are many levels of accomplishment in soaring:
  • FAA ratings including Student Pilot, Private Pilot, and Commercial Pilot.
  • SSA Badges: A, B, C, and Bronze
  • FAI Badges: Silver, Gold, and Diamond.
  • State, national, and international records are possible.
  • Local, regional, national, and international contests.
  • Other accomplishments: taking passengers, flying at remote airports, mentoring student pilots.
There's always a next step!
