Membership Types

General Member

Provides a yearly membership to both the SSA and OCSA, and subscriptions to Zero Sink and Soaring magazine. A general member will have voting privileges in the election of officers, entrance to all social activities, and is entitled to rides in club sailplanes as space permits. Cost is $25 per year. All General Members are encouraged to be members of the Soaring Society of America and receive a free 3-month introductory SSA membership. A great way to start off!

Flight Group Member

Monthly dues of $55 entitles members to unlimited access with no additional charges to all club aircraft, instruction, and facilities. Start up requires a one time $300 initiation fee. Flight instruction/flight reviews are provided free of charge regardless of the number of instructional flights. All members assist in the maintenance of sailplanes and all club equipment, as well as assisting in flight operations when assigned. All Flight Group members must be members of the Soaring Society of America. This is soaring at its most affordable; the only additional costs are for tows!

Student/Family Member

Student members are full Flight Group members who are currently attending school full time. If they are 22 years of age or less, then they have reduced SSA annual dues ($36) and reduced OCSA monthly dues ($25). Family members have reduced SSA annual dues ($36) and OCSA monthly dues ($25). Any Board member may be consulted for more details. Soaring is a sport which can include the whole family.
